This analysis is of the opening of thriller film Cape Fear. The story follows Max Cady (Robert De Niro) who was wrongfully sentenced. After his release after 14 years, he devotes his life to stalking and destroying the life of attorney Sam Bowden (Nick Nolte), who knew the real truth about Cady's crime. By analysing thriller openings, the groups knowledge of the thriller genre has been widened, and this can be put to use when creating our own thriller opening.
